Welcome to TSA, Täby Sändaramatörer, the Amateur Radio Club of Täby and surroundings

Täby, the place where we live

Täby is a modern municipality with sound economy and good prospectives for future development. Its proximity to Stockholm (15 km), to the archipelago (24000 islands!) and the Baltic Sea and also to Arlanda - the big international airport - means a great deal of advantage. Täby is a complete and well planned society where practically everything needed for a good life is within reach of everyone, regardless whether you are here as a visitor or you live here.

In Täby we have good public services, schools, leisure venues, and transportation facilities as well as a wide range of shops and service centers - 150 shops under one roof at Täby Centrum! And we have our radio club, see further down.

Täby counts a population of more than 60.000 people and has also a big area with woods and lakes. The old Swedish legal right of access to private land and open country gives us opportunities for moving and wandering about freely in our green open space to enjoy the nature and even to pick berries and mushrooms there. In Täby old times are also still very much in evidence - many rune-stones from the Viking Age - and also pre-historic cattle-tracks and graves from the Iron Age almost 2000 years ago. And in Täby Church there are well preserved ceiling paintings by the famous Albertus Pictor in 1480.

TSA, your best choice in Täby

Our club, TSA, was founded in 1977, and some years later we moved into the house at Sjöflygvägen which we had to leave in 2002 - it had to give room for new, expensive buildings.

Now we reside in a 1200 sqft shelter, once the Täby emergency communication center and therefore equipped with a 120 ft antenna tower outside. We have an extensive library - 70 ft of bookshelves filled with books and journals in the radio and ham radio fields.

It is difficult to describe how to get there. Maybe the map can give you a hint: The shelter is located under the northeastern part of the complex called "Byängsskolan". You can reach it by car, by bus, and by train to "Galoppfältets hållplats", but we think you have better contact someone on 145.525 MHz or RU4 to get further advice.

The best way to meet us

is to visit our Open Houses, which are held each Monday between 19 and 22, local time. Each Monday? Well, there are exceptions, namely:

  • During the summer, approx. June 10 - August 10.
  • During Christmas/New Year holidays, approx. December 20 - January 10.
  • If Monday is a holiday, like at Easter, for example.
  • If the following day happens to be a holiday, i.e. like May 1st.
  • When we make educational visits, which however seldom happens on Mondays.

The second best way to get in touch with us

is to launch a "CQ TSA" on our club frequency 145.525 MHz or on RU4 (they are linked together). To use RU4, listen on 434.700 and transmit on 436.300.
Each Sunday at 2130 local time (with the same exceptions as listed above) there is a net for mutual information on 145.525 MHz and RU4. It is in Swedish, of course, but don't hesitate to break in! The club's callsign is SK0MT.
